The most valued time we spend is with our children...
We dedicate this page to 'Dad' Stern.
A song in his heart, a twinkle in his eye, and the good of his family always first on his mind.
His life was filled with hard work and many sunny Spring days on his Freistadt, WI farm fields. Faith, Honesty, Love, and Integrity were the corner stones of his life..
Died February 4, 2002 with family at his side at the age of 90.

Grandpas' walk to get the cows. The little helper is my husband. A perfect example of just how much we look up to our role models.
Today Al is a union carpenter during the day and working his own farm at night! Personally, I cannot see him in any other lifestyle!
We refer to rural character, rural work ethics, and rural peacefulness. Most of these evaluations are made on people who come from the rural American lifestyle. So what makes that life style so special? Perhaps it is the many hours of working together as a family to achieve a major farm project. Perhaps it is the early morning hours of responsibilities doing chores with a sibling. Perhaps it is the late night barn check on a sick animal with Dad at your side. Perhaps it is the time spent working with Mom in the kitchen canning up the last of the tomatoes. Perhaps the heartaching decision to put down your favorite old dog was made with Mom and Dad at your side. Perhaps it is making a list and checking it twice/ or more, before you head off to town some 12-20 miles away.Maybe it's forgiving your neighbor whose 30 cows just ran through your new fence! Maybe it is the gathering of the entire family for a Holiday occassion with only one bathroom in the house! Maybe it was having a Sunday coat, because you really went to Church each and every Sunday!
All of these possibilities could add to what makes "Rural Reflections". Personally, I think that the time we share with our children is more important today than ever before, no matter where you live. Our children need brave, sincere, thoughtful, honest, and hard working role models right in their own homes.

Stern Farm in Freistadt, WI.
See the little guy handling the team?! That's Uncle Reinhard Stern! What a great guy he was! Grandpa handles the old grey mare and Grandma stands nearby with Aunt Lydia.
